Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak receives Mrs. Asma al-Assad, and the meeting deals with cooperation in the humanitarian field

On March 19thSheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Emirates,” received First Lady Asma al-Assad and her accompanying delegation at the “Al-Bahr Palace,” her residence in the capital, Abu Dhabi. 

The meeting dealt with the various aspects of cooperation in humanitarian work, social development and multifaceted empowerment, and the possibility of deepening joint initiatives between the various non-governmental bodies between the two brotherly countries, especially after the earthquake that struck Syria

The First Lady Asma al-Assad thanked the UAE government  and people for their swift response after the earthquake, and singled out Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak for her regular contact seekingbreassurance, and for her generous initiative to treat some people who had been affected by the  earthquake in the Emirates.

For her part, Sheikha Fatima stressed the depth of relations between the two countries and peoples, and indicated that the UAE was ready to mitigate the repercussions of the earthquake from the first moment, leading to joint humanitarian action. 

The meeting was attended by Luna Al-Shibel, Special Adviser to the Presidency of the Republic, and Dana Bashkour, Director of the Office of the First Lady

Mrs. Asma al-Assad was received at the presidential airport in the capital, Abu Dhabi by HE Dr. Maitha Al Shamsi, Minister of State.
