Shedding light on role played by drama in resisting cultural invasion

The role of youth and drama in resisting cultural invasion formed the focus of the symposium held by the Arab Cultural Center in Abu Rummaneh, with the participation of a group of researchers and specialists.

Director Mohamed Nasrallah noted during the symposium the great role of drama in general and Syrian drama in particular in the face of cultural invasion, pointing to the hidden messages directed to us in foreign drama and the need to pay attention to the negative messages it contains aimed at perpetuating imperialism represented in global Zionism.

Nasrallah underlined the need for raising awareness in choosing what our children receive through screens, in addition to mobilizing efforts and creating a national and patriotic Syrian drama that achieves the goal of luxury, pleasure and benefit and the delivery of national messages that it implies.

In turn, Engineer Majd Imad, director of the “Home for Development” group, drew attention to the role of youth in facing the cultural invasion, especially in light of the tyranny of social media on contemporary life, pointing out that the group endeavors to educate young people and direct their interests to serve the interests and  issues of their community.

Media figure Muhammad Khaled Al-Khidr, who moderated the symposium, noted the importance of youth solidarity and awareness to realize what the media and counter-drama imply. Then the dialogue began and the various interventions of the participants were answered.
