Shedding light on intellectual’s role in confronting the policy of Judaization

Al-Quds International Foundation-Syria, in cooperation with the Popular Committee for Supporting the Palestinian People and Resisting the Zionist Project, organized a lecture entitled “The Role of the Intellectual in Confronting the Policy of Judaization”  by the writer Dr. Hassan Hammid.

The symposium, moderated by Dr. Khalaf Al-Muftah, Director General of Al-Quds International Foundation, discussed the role of literature and culture in confronting the plans of the Zionist occupation and the importance of adhering to the Arabic language to enhance belonging in confronting the Judaization of the occupied city of Jerusalem and the falsification of Palestinian history and heritage.

The lecturer Hammid noted that the Palestinian people under occupation are resisting the enemy’s plans to spread the Hebrew language and disengage people from their identity and heritage. So, they established private schools and universities that teach Arabic curricula and focus on Palestinian literature and history.

One of the forms of the Palestinian people’s resistance of the Judaization attempts is their  insistence on Arab names of their villages, towns and neighborhoods, and the revival of the Palestinian heritage in singing, poetry, dress and popular celebrations, Hammid added.

Hammid focused on the important role played by Palestinian writers, poets and artists, as they preserved the originality of their creativity and refused to identify with what the occupation promotes.
