Shamanov: Humanitarian Situation in al-Rukban Camp Requires Urgent Solution

MOSCOW- Head of the Defense Committee of Russia’s State Duma Vladimir Shamanov  stressed that the humanitarian situation of those held by the US occupation forces in al-Rukban camp in al-Tanf area is difficult and requires a quick solution, according to SANA.

Shamanov, in a statement on Friday, said that the modern means of surveillance showed how people in the 21st century are being tortured and abused.

He added that Russia will not ignore that anymore, stressing that his country is strong and will no longer allow the existence of a unipolar world.

The US occupation forces are forcibly holding thousands of civilians in al-Rukban camp.

Agents of the US forces of terrorist mercenaries prevent those who are willing to return to their areas which have been liberated from terrorism by the Syrian Arab army, demanding large sums of money in US dollars to let them out.

Earlier, an official source at the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry held US military forces and their allied militants responsible for the humanitarian crisis affecting thousands of displaced people at Rukban camp.
