“Sham Al-Khair” Shopping Festival in Damascus aims at supporting families within the current difficult living conditions

With the participation of 125 national industrial companies, the activities of the “Sham Al-Khair” Shopping Festival were launched on Thursday, March 7th, at Al-Umawyeein complex in Damascus. The festival is organized by the Damascus and Damascus Countryside Chambers of Industry and Commerce in cooperation with the Syrian Trading and Damascus Governorate.

The festival, which continues until April 2nd, presents various materials and goods that the family needs, including food products, various types of detergents, household tools, clothing and leather goods.  In addition, it set up a tent next to the complex to sell vegetables and fruits, especially citrus fruits, at a cost price, as a kind of support for citizens, particularly during the coming month of Ramadan and in the light of the difficult living conditions in the country.

Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection said that the festival is an example of cooperation between the public and private sectors to meet citizens’ needs at competitive prices.  Industry Minoster Abdul Qader Jokhadar noted that such event witness wide turnout by citizens to benefit from offers and discounts.

Damascus Governor Mohammad Tarek Kreishati said the festival provides an example of social solidarity among the people, industrialists and traders in Damascus to alleviate the burdens of living conditions on families.
