On May 8th, the Head of the Czechoslovak Institute for International Relations, Jaromir Shalapata, said that holding the presidential elections in Syria is evidence of its independence and sovereignty.
Shalapata said: “The conduct of the presidential elections confirms the determination of the Syrian people to express their aspirations and their rejection of any external interference in their internal affairs.”
Shalapata added that no party has the right to interfere in the matter of the sovereignty of the Syrian state.
