Shaaban: Zionist Entity, Armed Gangs Share Common Goals

DAMASCUS, (ST)- The Israeli occupation entity and the armed gangs in Syria share common goals and the ongoing events in Syria are part of an attempt to re-map out the entire region, stressed the Presidential Political and Media Advisor Bouthaina Shaaban.

In an interview with “al-Mayadeen” Channel on Friday, Shaaban said Israel is the party which organizes and orchestrates some of the criminal acts being committed by armed gangs against the Syrian people, stressing  that Israel is the main winner from what is going on in Syria.

Commenting on the recent events in the Syrian Golan, Shaaban stressed that the attack on Quneitra crossing is part of an organized attack against Syria.

On the Austrian UNDOF forces’ withdrawal from Golan, Shaaban said it indicates the difference in the European countries’ stances on how to tackle the crisis in Syria in particular and in the entire region in general.

“The ongoing events in Syria is part of a plan aiming at re-mapping out the region under the so-called “Arab Spring” which seeks destroying the Arab countries and undermining their identity, heritage and civilization, Shaaban said.

“What is going on has nothing to do with improving the living conditions of the Syrians. It is but a scheme to exhaust the Syrian state, army and people and to destroy the state’s infrastructure,” she added.

The political advisor affirmed that there is a direct military intervention in Syria in terms of arming and financing mercenaries and sending them to kill and kidnap innocent Syrians and mutilate their bodies.

Concerning the Arab League’s ( AL) involvement in the war, Shaaban stressed that the AL was a major player in the war on Syria and a partner in shedding the Syrian blood.

She affirmed  that Syria is a founder member in the Arab League, pointing out that “suspending Syria’s AL membership suspends Arab steadfastness and national feeling, but it is not surprising when  all know that a country like Qatar is the party which leads this League by means of money and blackmailing attempts.”

Shaaban stressed that Turkey and Qatar are greatly involved in the tragic events in Syria to serve the establishment of what they call an “Islamic state” in Syria and to implement foreign agendas that allow the West to further dominate the region’s resources after fragmenting them into mini states.

On the international conference scheduled to discuss Syria, Shaaban said that no date has been fixed for holding the conference because of disagreement on some issues relating to who will attend it.

Syria is to take part in the conference without preconditions, because it knows where it is going and realizes well that it will talk to some opposition leaders,” she said.

She stressed that Palestine is the core of the Arab-Israeli conflict. “It is our core issue as a Syrian people, because we always have been supporters to  the Palestinian cause and to every resistance movement which seeks the liberation of Palestine.
