Shaaban Warns of Conspiracy Aiming to Fragment Region Countries on Sectarian, Ethnic Basis

 DAMASCUS, (ST)-The Presidential Political and Media Advisor Bouthaina Shaaban, who is also the Head of the Board of Trustees of Al-Quds International Foundation, has stressed the importance of adherence to Arabism and unified action to foil the conspiracies being hatched against the Arab nation and to maintain Palestine as the torch which enlightens the way for all the Arabs to preserve their unity, dignity and independence.

“The blood of the martyrs, who scarified themselves to maintain the nation’s steadfastness and dignity, is a dear trust we should keep”, Shaaban said in a statement following the meeting of the Board of Trustees of Al-Quds International Foundation yesterday in Damascus.

“The reason behind the schemes targeting Syrian and other Arab countries is al-Quds and the Palestinian cause,” she added, warning of a “dangerous conspiracy aiming at bringing mercenaries from all over the world to the region as to fragment its countries on ethnic and sectarian basis.”

She pointed out that the dignity of the Arabs lies in their solidarity with each other and their unity in the confrontation of the conspiracy targeting the entire region.

On his part, Talal Naji, member of the Board of Trustees, asserted that Syria has embraced and supported the Palestinian cause from the very beginning and the barbaric aggression being carried out against the Syrian state is because of its support for resistance and of its principled stances which for long years have adopt the Palestinian cause as a central cause for all the Syrians.
