Shaaban to a Palestinian delegation: Confronting normalization by reviving Arab nationalism
Dr. Buthaina Shaaban, Special Adviser to the Presidency of the Republic, has affirmed that the Syrian people consider Palestine their main cause, and that the practices carried out by the Israeli occupation aim to abolish the entire Arab presence.
Dr. Shaaban received a delegation from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine(PFLP), which included Deputy Secretary-General of the Front, Jamil Mezher, the Front’s International Relations Officer, Maher Al-Taher, the Central Media Officer, Kayed Al-Ghoul, the Arab and National Relations Officer Abu Ahmed Fouad, and members of the Political Bureau Ahmed Abu Al-Saud, Mahmoud Al-Raz, and Iktmal Hamadand Omar Murad.
During the meeting , Dr. Shaaban pointed out that the strategy of the West and the Israeli enemy is to work in spreading normalization at the popular level.
She said that the Israeli occupation is a step to dominate the wealth of the Arab nation, pointing out the importance of taking clear and supportive positions for the Palestinian people to help them confront Zionist terrorism.
She explained that targeting Syria and its institutions in 2011 was primarily aimed at stopping the Arab national role and its position on the Palestinian issue, which is what Western countries and the Zionist entity failed in planning, financing, and managing the terrorist war on Syria.
She said that Syria’s steadfastness played a major role in the occurrence of global transformations and the major changes that we are witnessing today.
She stressed that Syria is always ready to provide everything possible to support the struggle of the Palestinian people at all levels.
She continued: “Israel is exploiting the war in Ukraine to consolidate its occupation of the Palestinian territories by bringing in thousands of Russian Jews and settling them in the occupation entity.”
Deputy Secretary-General of the Front, Jamil Mezher, affirmed that Syria has a great historical role in supporting the Palestinian people in all fields.
He said that confronting normalization is a joint Arab responsibility as it is the real danger facing the Arab nation.
He added: “The Palestinian people, despite all the crimes of the Zionist enemy, continue with its resistance and its fixed historical positions.”
In turn, the head of the International Relations Office in the front, Maher Al-Taher, explained that the attack on Syria came due to its standing by Palestine, embracing its people, and adopting their cause as a central issue for it.
He said that Syria’s victory is a victory for Palestine and for every Arab who believes in Arab nationalism.
The front’s central media official, Kayed al-Ghoul, affirmed that Syria is steadfast in all attempts to bring it into the normalization alliance, despite the economic siege it is facing.
