Shaaban: The Zionist project that targeted the Syrian identity has failed thanks to the sacrifices of the Syrian people

Damascus, (ST) – The Special Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic Buthaina Shaaban has affirmed that the war that has been targeting the Syrian identity, as part of the American-Western project in the region, has failed, due to the Syrians’ sacrifices.

She made the remarks during her meeting on Wednesday with the delegation of the Venice Association for Italian-Arab Friendship led by the association’s international cooperation officer, Sanaa Shami.

Shaaban said that this war has targeted the Syrian identity with all its spectrums in all governorates without exception, and its main goal was to take Syria decades back.

She pointed out that Syria possesses great and infinite treasures and it has a rich cultural heritage that needs to be documented in various languages.

Shaaban also said that all the attempts that have been made over the past years to target Arab peoples aim to reach the path of normalization with the Zionist enemy and to promote this enemy as to help it expand further in the region.

She pointed to the great role played by the “Wathiqat Watan” (Homeland Document) Foundation in documenting the war that targeted Syria and preserving heritage and handicrafts.

Shaaban indicated that the West is suffering from the effects of the capitalist system that imposes policies that do not represent the views of people.

She also indicated that the Zionist project that targeted the Arab countries with all their components failed to achieve its goals thanks to the sacrifices made by the Syrian people and the resistance movements.

Shaaban’s meeting with the association’s delegation focused on the necessity of consolidating the preservation of national identity, employing the Syrian cultural and civilizational heritage in all its dimensions to strengthen identity and belonging, documenting the terrorist war that Syria has been exposed to and highlighting the cultural and heritage treasures possessed by the Syrian people.

The association’s delegation also comprised the Moroccan Arab thinker Idris Hani, the Polish opera singer Dominique Zamara, and Dr. Ghazwan Ramadan, the association’s activities coordinator.

Dr. Sanaa Shami stressed the necessity of conveying Syria’s civilized image to all the peoples of the world, because the Western regime is trying to destroy this image. She pointed out that countries that still maintain the colonial mentality are trying to destroy the cultural identity of peoples by targeting childhood and achieving the moral destruction of future generations.

In turn, the Moroccan Arab thinker Idris Hani stated that Syria possesses a cultural heritage known in various historical stages, and it must be protected from conspiracies targeting it. He pointed out that Syria is qualified in the next stage to be a center for cultural tourism for all peoples of the world.

Polish opera singer Dominique Zamara expressed her happiness at visiting Syria and seeing a number of Syrian heritage places. She said that the Syrian people possess an ancient and distinctive civilization that is reflected in all aspects of their lives and reflected in the customs and traditions that express them.
