Shaaban thanked members of the delegation for their visit, for their support to the Syrian people and for their efforts as to convey the true image of what is going on in Syria to the US churches and people.
Member of the guest US delegation Marilyn Borst told SANA that the delegation is visiting Syria at an invitation from the National Evangelical Synod in Syria and Lebanon. The visit aims at supporting the Syrian people against terrorism.
“We are partners with the National Evangelical Synod in Syria and Lebanon and we are friends of all the churches in Syria, Borst said, pointing out that the delegation has made several visits to Syria and every time they returned home they try to correct the distorted image promoted by the West about events in Syria
“What distinguishes this visit from previous ones is people’s movement, the crowdedness and continuity of normal life,” Borst said, hoping that peace and security will be restored to Syria as soon as possible.
