Shaaban: The language of the Zionist entity and its supporters aims to distort resistance’s image

DAMASCUS , JUN.8, (ST)-Today, the Special Advisor to the Syrian  Presidency and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Al-Quds International Foundation in Syria, Buthaina Shaaban, affirmed that what is happening in the Palestinian arena sheds light on another battle which is no less important than the military battle.

“It is “the battle of the narrative, language and thought being  used by the Zionist enemy and all its supporters in order to distorting the image of  resistance and the Arabs and justifying the war of genocide that is being committed by the occupation entity against the Palestinian people,” Shaaban clarified in a press conference held during the opening session of the annual meeting of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees at the Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus.

She underlined that the occupation entity is a base for the entire West, especially for the U.S., because the solidarity between them is organic and historical in all fields.

Shaaban added that the narrative adopted by the US President since the first day of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on the 7th  of last October aimed to remove the resistance action from its historical context and declared goals and to provide coverage and reward to the Zionist entity for the unprecedented genocide it committed against the Palestinian people.

“Here the compatibility between the American role and the Israeli one becomes clear,” shed said, stressing that the statement to which resistance clung  after the “Al-Aqsa flood” was “The release of Palestinian prisoners.”

“This statement was not mentioned in the Western media, while they considered that the Al-Aqsa Flood is an excuse for the Zionist entity to begin a systematic and carefully planned war of genocide,” she said.

Shaaban went on to say: “The United States played a major role in aborting any effort to achieve rights and justice for the Palestinian people, as it vetoed more than fifty resolutions in the UN Security Council to prevent the Palestinian people from obtaining their rights…. The role of the West is to be a fierce defender of this Zionist entity, and this is not surprising because the history of the United States is almost identical to that of “Israel,” since they eliminated ancient cultural civilizations and indigenous populations and occupied their land.”

She underscored that the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people sparked pro-Palestine movements in the West  which did not hesitate to use all methods of force to suppress these movements, in contradiction to everything the West says about freedom of expression and opinion.

She indicated that the reality of resistance has proven that the West does not give weight to international law and human rights, nor to any right it claims.

Shaaban stressed that the Palestinian issue has become a human rights issue that the whole world feels, as 143 countries have recognized the State of Palestine and this is a very important beginning, and one of the fruits of steadfastness and resistance.

For his part, the Director General of the Al-Quds International Foundation, Yassin Hammoud, referred to the barbaric Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip, after the start of the Al-Aqsa Flood, which is entering its ninth month, and its perpetration of massacres that targeted children, women and elderly, and did not spare hospitals, health facilities, infrastructure, schools, mosques, and churches.

The Director General of the Al-Quds International Foundation Syria,  Khalaf Al-Muftah, gave a presentation on the Foundation’s activity during the year 2023 including its cooperation and partnership with the Palestinian factions and forces and the embassies of countries supporting the people of Palestine.

The Ambassador of the State of Palestine in Damascus,  Samir Al-Rifai, said that the Zionist enemy has systematically perpetrated genocide against the Palestinian people and displaced them after it destroyed the infrastructure.

Al-Rifai appreciated Syria’s clear and frank support for the just Palestinian cause, stressing that despite all Western support for the occupying entity and its conspiracies, Palestine and its supporters will achieve victory.
