Shaaban salutes all Syrian women on Mothers’ Day

Presidential political and media advisor Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban has declared that the Syrian mothers’ steadfastness is not less than the steadfastness of men, who are defending the homeland.

She said -during a celebration held Monday in al-Saadeh House for the Elderly in Damascus on the occasion of Mothers’ Day- that the Syrian mother was the main supporter for defending the homeland.

“We are grateful to the mothers of martyrs,” Dr. Shaaban added, wishing all Syrian mothers prosperity and progress.

On her part, Minister of Social Affairs Rema al-Qadri said that the ministry will launch projects to empower woman and to help her raise her children and meet all their needs.

“The Syrian mother is a great mother,” Director of the House Maysaa Shaabani stressed, pointing out that the house every year holds activities and celebrations on the occasion of Mothers’ Day in order to honor the inhabitants and to give them symbolic gifts.

Around 100 elderly women plus 25 elderly men are living in the al-Saadeh House.

On the same occasion [Mothers’ Day], several celebrations were held yesterday in Aleppo, Homs and Hasaka cities where dozens of mothers of martyrs and wounded soldiers plus women engineers were honored.
