Shaaban’s office categorically denies reports on Khan’s death

DAMASCUS, (ST)- “nobody contacted us on  British Doctor, Abbas Khan’s suicide ,” Office of Presidential Political and Media Advisor, Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban underscored.

The office categorically denied that  statements of the doctor ‘s sister Sara Khan to the British BBC channel and what the Lebanese al-Jadeed TV and al-Joumhuria Gazette have circulated are groundless and baseless.

The Foreign and Expatriates Ministry on December 18 summoned representative of the Czech Embassy in Damascus who is charged with managing British interests section in Syria, submitting to him a tripartite medical report on the death of the British citizens Abbas Khan Shah who had entered Syria illegally and participated in illegal activities.

“Khan Shah’s death was caused by asphyxiation caused by self-inflicted hanging performed with the intent of committing suicide, with examination of the body’s torso and x-rays showing no sign of violence, struggle or use of force, “clarified the report.

“Syria was about to hand over Khan Shah to his mother and UK MP George Gallaway who intervened to pardon him, “affirmed Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Fayssal Mikdad upon receiving the Czech Embassy official.
