Shaaban: President Al-Assad’s speech focused on learning from the war on Syria

DAMASCUS, (ST)_ The Presidential political and media advisor  Bouthaina Shaaban has stressed the importance of the speech delivered by President Bashar Al-Assad on Saturday after taking the oath in which he focused on the necessity for Syrians to learn from the war on their homeland.

In an interview with Syria TV channel on Saturday, Shaaban said that the President was frank and transparent in the speech in which he underlined the responsibility of the Syrians and what they can do whether in terms of the ongoing war against their country or concerning the future.

She said that there are  international developments but we do not rely on them, affirming that the US sanctions are not a fate that kill peoples if those peoples have the will and capability. ”The people of Syria are able to shape the future of their country”.

Shaaban clarified that if the balance of power does not allow the waging of immediate war to liberate the occupied areas, this does not mean that there is no other way, i.e. popular resistance,  for the Syrian people to liberate the occupied areas from the Turkish and US occupations and to liberate the occupied Syrian Golan with the support of the Syrian state.
