DAMASCUS, May.16, (ST)-The Presidential Advisor Bouthaina Shaaban affirmed on Monday the importance of enhancing and developing the Syrian-Mauritanian relations and activating the agreements signed by the two brotherly countries.
She asserted Syria’s adherence to the unity of the Arab stance, saying that Syria extends its hand to cooperate with any Arab country or party in order to achieve joint Arab solidarity.
Her remarks came during her meeting with the MP Al-Mustafa Dah Sohaib, Chairman of the brotherly Syrian-Mauritanian Parliamentary Committee, and the accompanying delegation, as well as the head and members of the Syrian-Mauritanian Committee in the People’s Assembly [Syrian Parliament].
Shaaban highly appreciated the honorable stance of the Mauritanian people and leadership towards Syria throughout the years of the terrorist war that it has been subjected to despite the pressures put on Mauritania, noting that this stance gives hope for the revival of the nation again.
She stressed that Arabism represents the cultural and historical incubator for all Arab peoples, and it is the obligatory path to reach a better Arab future, indicating that the Arab nation is linked to many points that require unifying the Arab position towards various issues, the most important of which are language, history and civilization.
“The first goal of the war on Syria is to confiscate its independent decision, which it has known for decades, and make it a state depending on the West… When terrorism failed to undermine the Syrian state, the armies of the conspiring countries such as Turkey and the United States moved to occupy parts of the Syrian territory,” Shaaban clarified.
For his part, the MP. Dah Sohaib affirmed that media misinformation campaigns have not been able to change the view and attitude of the Mauritanian people towards The reality of the situation in Syria.
The parliamentarian and the members of the delegation called for reformulating the concept of solidarity, Arab discourse and coordination between Arab countries so that this would raise the Arab youths’ awareness towards the dangers that are threatening the Arab nation and hindering the unity of the Arab position about all issues.
The delegation stressed that they came to Syria carrying a message of thanks and appreciation from the Mauritanian political, cultural and popular activities to Syria for its steadfastness and victories in the terrorist war being waged against it.
For his part, Chairman of the Syrian-Mauritanian Committee in the People’s Assembly, Muhammad Bakhit, appreciated Mauritania’s leadership and people’s support for Syria, referring to the importance of exchanging parliamentary visits and experiences between the two brotherly countries.
