Shaaban, Hassoun meet delegation from European Solidarity Front for Syria

Damascus – Presidential Political and Media Advisor Bouthaina Shaaban met on Tuesday a delegation from the European Solidarity Front for Syria.

During the meeting, Shaaban briefed the delegation on the stages of the war on Syria and the role of the Western media in exacerbating it, explaining to them the role of Qatar and Turkey in supporting, funding, and arming terrorists coming to Syria, SANA reported.

“Syria is a secular country that doesn’t discriminate between Christian and Muslim, and co-existence is a culture that all Syrians have known for hundreds of years” she said.

For their part, the delegation members expressed solidarity with the Syrians and condemned the crimes committed by armed terrorist organizations, noting that their visit aims at learning about what is happening in Syria and conveying the true image of the situation to the European people.

In the same context, Grand Mufti of the Republic Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun met the same delegation, and during the meeting he affirmed that the terrorism which targets Syria constitutes a threat to the whole world, yet terrorism still receives support from many countries, mainly the US, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, and a number of European countries.

Hassoun called for concerted efforts to prevent the spread of extremism in the world and to prevent the exploitation of what is happening in the region to promote the Takfiri Wahhabi ideology among young people in Western countries.
