Shaaban: China has the right to take all measures necessary to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity

The Special Advisor at the Syrian Presidency, Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban, has reaffirmed China’s right to take all measures necessary to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In an interview with the Chinese News Agency “Xinhua” on Sunday, Shaaban said that the US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to China’s Taiwan region aimed at showing that the United States is still the world’s superpower and that it can do anything it wants.

The results of China’s measures in response to Pelosi’s visit came in contrary with what some US politicians wish, said Shaaban, pointing out that the military drills conducted by China are very important and they proved that China is serious about taking steps to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

She pointed out that in all its relations, the United States aims mainly at showing itself as the only dominating power, while China wants a multi-polar world order and it adopts the policy of cooperation instead of the policy of hegemony pursued by the West.

Shaaban reiterated that the “One China” principle is internationally recognized and it serves the interest of all the Chinese people.
