Shaaban, Bogdanov Discuss Implementing Sochi Congress Decisions

MOSCOW, (ST)- The results of the Syrian National Dialogue Congress held in Russia’s city of Sochi and the situation in Syria and the entire region were the main topics discussed during a meeting on Tuesday between Syria’s Presidential Political and Media Adviser Bouthaina Shaaban and  the Russian Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov.

According to a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry, the two sides focused on the need to find a political settlement of the crisis in Syria based on the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2254.

They thoroughly exchanged points of view concerning the results of the Syrian National Dialogue Congress and concerning ways to implement its decisions, the ministry said.

Speaking at Valdai Discussion Club in Moscow on Monday, Shaaban said that the Turkish aggression on Syria and the illegitimate US presence in it violate international law and impede the political solution.
