DAMASCUS,(ST)_ The media institute launched yesterday its first session in the context of the ” living it up “ campaign, titled management of dialogue and TV and radio presentation in coordination with the Radio and TV station.
In her inaugural speech the Political and Media Advisor at the Syrian Presidency Dr. Butheina Shaaban stressed the need of developing the national media to meet the challenges posed by the crisis on the Syrian society, considering that the battle with parties to the conspiracy on Syria “is a media battle par excellence and to reach our voice to the world to refute lies so as to integrate with the real achievements carried out by the Syrian army on the ground. “
Dr. Shaaban called for adopting new ways of thinking that fit the current Syrian reality to address the destructive project, that armed terrorist organizations try to impose on Syria and the region, noting that this can be done through reinforcing efforts in all sectors, pointing out the need to “preserve the unity of the Syrian social fabric and strengthen the bonds of community cohesion “in response to aggression that we are exposed to.
Dr. Shaaban stressed that the Syrians best message to the world is the challenge of all projects that the enemy wants to impose on them and abidance to their heritage of civilization that spans thousands of years and not to be victimized by fear and defeatism.
Minister of Information Omran al-Zoubi called for the improvement of the Syrian media to be a model for the region and the Arab world, despite the challenges faced by the country, through training cadres and trainees and providing the media with new competencies that are able to bring about a change in media work and reach the real message on the situation in Syria to the world, noting “the ability of the Syrian media to expose the enemy media, as frequently admitted by enemy media sources. “
Media Institute director Rania al-Ali said that the institute plans seek to train the largest number of workers in the media field in all its branches to strengthen national capacities and qualify media cadres.
Ali explained that the sessions, which began yesterday will continue throughout the year with topics on investigative journalism, body language, media reportage, the news, ways to deal with social networking sites and other topics related to war correspondents, political analysts, protection networks, and investigative journalism.
Dean of the Faculty of Information at Damascus University Dr. Butrous Hallaq considered training as one of the most important elements of success in the media work, a matter which requires drawing appropriate plans for continuous training in order to enable the national media keeping up with the victories achieved by the Syrian army and the accelerated events imposed by the crisis.
The dialogue management session includes lectures to be given by professors from the Faculty of Information at the University of Damascus and practical exercises under the supervision of cadres of the Radio and the TV station.
