PRAGUE, (ST)- American journalist and writer Seymour Hersh has stressed that what the West calls “moderate opposition” in Syria doesn’t exist, pointing out that terrorists from different parts of the world enter Syria across open Turkish borders.
In a statement to the Czech TV last night, Hersh said “Turkey is playing a double game regarding the fight against ISIS terrorist organization,” noting that there are evidences proving trade relations between Turkey and the extremist organization and that the US administration also has evidence in this respect.
Over the past years, the Turkish regime turned the Turkish territories into a base and a crossing for terrorists coming from all over the world to Syria. It supported the terror groups including the blacklisted “ISIS” and “Jabhat al-Nusra” by providing them with arms and funding and by buying the stolen Syrian oil from ISIS.
The United States also backed the terrorist groups under the pretext that they are “moderate opposition” though it knows well that there is no difference between them and al-Qaeda, ISIS or Jabhat al-Nusra.
In December last year, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov revealed in a press conference that senior Turkish officials including Recepe Tayyib Erdogan and members of his family were involved in buying the stolen Syrian oil from ISIS. Antonov pointed out that oil sales are among the main sources of funding for terrorists in Syria.
According to Hersh, ISIS is destined to defeat, as “its growing loss of areas makes it change its tactics and focus on easy targets like civilians.”
Hersh warned of horrible events that may occur in the world, particularly in Western Europe, since ISIS mad terrorists won’t hesitate to kill children, so, fighting them strongly is a must.
