DEIR EZZOR, (ST)- The checkpoints of the US-backed Kurdish militia called Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) were targeted on Saturday by the gunfire of unidentified persons in al-Hawayej and Jadeed Akedat towns in Deir Ezzor eastern countryside. A number of SDF militants were injured in the attack, according to local sources.

The sources told SANA reporter that several SDF members were injured when unidentified persons attacked with machineguns the SDF’s al-Tahouna checkpoint in al-Hawayej town which witnesses daily protests demanding the expulsion of the SDF militia and the US occupation forces from the town.

The reporter added that one of the so-called “self Defense” checkpoints, affiliated to SDF militia, was also exposed to machinegun fire by unidentified persons in the village of Jadeed Akedat in Deir Ezzor eastern countryside.

On Friday, SDF militia stormed al-Hawayej town, kidnapped several civilians and took them to an unknown place, while a militant from SDF groups was killed when unknown persons opened fire at him in Al-Busayrah city in Deir Ezzor northeastern countryside.
