Several Syrian-Russian meetings held to discuss cooperation in all sectors

DAMASCUS, Nov 16, (ST)-Damascus witnessed today several separate meetings between the members of the visiting Russian delegation and Syrian officials where reconstruction process and cooperation in the fields of economy, fishing, agricultural researches, fishing, media, education and fighting extremism were discussed. 
 
According to the Syrian Arab News Agency  (SANA), Deputy Minister of Housing Eng. Rama Zaher discussed with several directors of Russian companies the implementation of the joint  Syrian-Russian projects in the fields of reconstruction and Russian companies’ suggestions in this regard. 
 
While the meeting between Guidance Director at Awqaf Ministry Ayman Al-Sayyed and the Advisor of the Russian Federal Agency of National Affairs Anna Baljavia dealt with the ways of unifying efforts to fight extremism and exchanging experiences in this field. 
 
Another member of the Russian delegation representing fishing agency reviewed with Director of Fishing Commission the ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation in fishing and the agreement signed by Syria and Russian in this domain.  
 
As for cooperation in economic field, Chairman of the Aleppo Chamber of Commerce Mohammad Amer Hamwi discussed with Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Krasnodar Tkachenko  region Alexander Yurivitsh how to carry out joint project and promote the products and services of companies as well as exchange commercial and investment information. 
 
The Russian businessman said: “We have a positive vision and we discussed topics related to  rebuilding infrastructures and enhancing industrial and commercial cooperation with Syria in general and with Aleppo in particular.”
 
Concerning agricultural cooperation, a meeting was held between the Minister of Agriculture Mohmmad Hassan Qatna and Russian delegation representing the Scientific Center of Agricultural Science Academy. 
 
The two sides asserted the need to exchange experiences in the field of modern agricultural technologies. 
 
Regarding media cooperation, Deputy Minister of Information Ahmad Dawa held talks with Director of the Foreign Information Department of the Russian Ministry of Information Yekaterina Larina . 
 
Dawa told reporters that the both sides discussed ways to enhance media cooperation in general and holding training courses in particular, indicating that cooperation between the Russian and Syrian media outlets is active in the field of covering the terrorist war on Syria, clarifying facts and refuting fabricated news.
 
For her part, Larina affirmed the readiness of the Russian side to sign a memorandum of understanding with Syria in the media field and exchange experiences. 
 
Other members of the Russian delegation representing Moscow State University of Technology (STANKIN), headed by Dr. Popova Nadezhta Yulevna, Rector of the Center for International Cooperation at StANKIN University (MSTU “STANKIN) discussed with Rector of al-Baath University Dr. Abdul Baset al-Khatib the mechanisms of joint cooperation between the two universities through implementation of the previously signed agreement between the two sides.
 
Cooperation in transportation sector was also reviewed by the Minister of Transportation Zoheer Khazeem and Russian experts in railways. 
 
“80% of railways have been out of service because of the terror war on Syria and the looting of rails by the US-backed “Syrian Democratic Forces” militia and the Turkish regime’s mercenaries,” the minister clarified, referring to the efforts exerted by the government to repair the railways.  
 
The meetings came on the sidelines of the Syrian-Russian meeting being held at the Conferences Palace in Damascus to follow up on the works of the International Conference on the Return of Refugees to Syria.
