Several Norwegian Nationals Join Terrorists in Syria

The “Jabhat Al-Nusra” group, which is on the United States’ list of terrorist organizations, has recruited Norwegian citizens to fight against the Syrian people, reports said, according to FNA.

According to the NRK TV channel, between 10 and 20 Norwegian citizens have travelled to Syria to participate in the fighting there.

Meantime, the VG newspaper also quoted security sources as saying that” Jabhat Al-Nusra” is one of the groups under scrutiny by the Norwegian intelligence service and Secret Police (PST).

A member of the terrorist Free Syrian Army had earlier informed that 13 Norwegian citizens have joined Jabhat Al-Nusra’s ranks in the war in Syria.

Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011 with organized attacks by well-armed gangs against Syrian police forces and border guards being reported across the country.

Hundreds of people, including members of the security forces, have been killed, when some protest rallies turned into armed clashes.

The government blames outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorist groups for the deaths, stressing that the unrest is being orchestrated from abroad.
