“The Federation of Syrian Publishers participates in more than 70 publishing houses that provide Egyptian and Arab readers with all that is new and useful in scientific, cultural, political, historical and religious fields.” This is what Haitham Hafez, Head of the Syrian Publishers Union, said in a statement to the SANA reporter in Cairo today, stressing that the participation of Syrian publishing houses in the Cairo International Book Fair at its 53rd session this year is outstanding and unique with new titles.
Hafez stressed that the union will participate in many seminars to be held on the sidelines of the exhibition and within its activities, as well as in seminars for the development of the Arab publishing industry. He pointed to the presence of many new Syrian writers and new publications.
Hafiz spoke about Syria’s remarkable participation in the children’s pavilion, which is rich in workshops dedicated to children, as well as its extensive participation in the convening of the General Assembly and the Arab Publishers’ Union elections, to be held on the sidelines of the Cairo International Book Fair. “We also seek to renew the Protocol on Joint Cooperation between our Union and the Egyptian Publishers’ Union, which we sign every year to support the framework of joint cooperation to enrich the Arab Library.” He added.
