With the participation of seven Syrian female artists, the Zenobia Women’s Association of Australia, in collaboration with the Queen Victoria Women’s Center, held its first “Amal” plastic exhibition. The outstanding paintings by the Syrian artists were admired by visitors to the exhibition, who included many important social figures.
The Society’s President Norma Madwar gave a presentation on the participating female artists and the displayed paintings, and thanked the attendees, who contributed to encouraging the artists to present more artistic and creative works.
Vice President Christine Bardwell highlighted the efforts of the Queen Victoria Women’s Centre, to assist the Association in the holding of this exhibition, as well as the creativity of members of the Syrian community in all spheres of working life in Australia.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, a party was held where Syrian food was served, while attendees enjoyed listening to music pieces of authentic Syrian heritage to the tune of Al-Oud by Syrian musician Hosam Karam.
It is worth mentioning that the Zenobia Women’s Association was founded in 2021 by a group of Syrian and Australian women to introduce Syria’s civilization, culture, experience and progress, as well as to help Syrian women in particular, and Arab women in general, to integrate into Australian society through educational and awareness lectures.
