Seven new breaches of cessation of hostilities, 100 more terrorists arrive from Turkey into Aleppo

Lattakia – The Russian Coordination Center said that terrorist organizations breached the cessation of hostilities agreement in Syria 7 times in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of breaches to 524 since last February, SANA reported.

The center, based in Hemeimim airbase, said in a statement on Thursday that militants of the so called “Jaish al-Islam” targeted al-Zharaa neighborhood in Aleppo and military posts in Midaa, Zebdin, Joubar, Erbin and Harasta with mortar rounds, rocket shells and machineguns.

The cessation of hostilities agreement, which came into effect on 27 February, does not include Jabhat al-Nusra, ISIS and other groups listed by the UN as terrorist organizations.

The center’s statement also mentioned that in Aleppo, terrorists of Jabhat al-Nusra targeted with arbitrary fire al-Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood four times and al-Nairab Airport twice , in addition to targeting the towns of Handarat and Heilan, leaving causalities among civilians.

It added that more than 100 Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists who crossed the Turkish border arrived in Khan Touman in the southern countryside of Aleppo.

On the other hand, the center noted that the number of towns joining the agreement of cessation of hostilities has risen to 100, pointing out that truce agreements were signed with leaders of four armed groups in Damascus, bringing the total number up to 58.
