Settlement of status of gunmen and wanted persons continues in Sidon and its surroundings in Daraa countryside

Daraa, (ST) – On Monday, the process of settling the status of the gunmen, wanted persons and deserters from military service from the town of Sidon and its surroundings, east of Daraa, and handing over arms to the Syrian Arab Army continued within the framework of the settlement agreement proposed by the government in Daraa governorate .

 A number of townspeople expressed their satisfaction with the settlement, which reflected “the state’s keenness on the safety of its citizens and the establishment of the rules of security and stability.”

The mayor of the town of Kahil, Ayesh Al-Masry, told SANA reporter, “The importance of settlements is  the desire of most wanted persons to join them and return to a normal life.”

Muhammad Abu El-Eis, head of the Sidon town council, said that the settlements are “a new opportunity for young people to return to their normal lives and contribute in the reconstruction process.”

One of the deserters from the military service from the village of Al-Naima expressed his hope for “the return of security and stability.”  He stressed that, the settlements are “a new page for those who wanted to return to a normal life.”

After settling his status, Suleiman Abu Rashid saw that the settlements are “a demand of the people of all Daraa towns for the return of security and stability in parallel with the return of state institutions to practice their work.”

In the last few  days, the situation of the militants, fugitives and wanted persons from the villages and towns of Nassib, Umm Al-Mayathen, Al-Taybeh, Sidon, Al-Naima and Kahil, east and southeast of Daraa, was settled. Dozens of military rifles were handed over to the army, and then its units entered the area to comb it in order to preserve the lives of the people there, marking the full return of the work of service institutions and in appropriate conditions of security and stability.
