Serbian Foreign Minister: We are interested in strengthening economic cooperation with Syria

Belgrade (ST): Serbian Foreign Minister Nikola Silakovic affirmed his country’s desire to advance and strengthen bilateral relations with Syria in all fields and its permanent support for Syria’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.

During his meeting with Chargé d’Affairs at the Syrian Embassy in Belgrade, Dr. Ammar Awad, Silakovic noted Serbia’s interest in intensifying political dialogue and enhancing economic cooperation and trade exchange with Syria.

Silakovic welcomed the fact that the Foreign and Expatriates  Minister Dr. Faisal Miqdad, will head the Syrian delegation to the meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement, which will be held in Belgrade this month, pointing to the importance of cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the Movement.

 In turn, the Chargé d’Affairs on behalf of Syria expressed Syria’s readiness to do everything necessary to develop relations between the two friendly countries in all fields, stressing the importance of facing challenges and pressures that the two countries are exposed to and preventing interference in their internal affairs.
