Senator Fernandez: “Our visit to Syria uncovered the misinformation practiced by western media against the country”

President of the Senate of Paraguay, Senator Oscar Ruben Salomon Fernandez, has stressed that his visit to Syria has helped uncover the misinformation practiced by the western media against Syria.

He made the remarks on Monday during a Paraguayan delegation’s visit to the city of Salamiya in Hama eastern countryside, where the delegation received a warm welcome by the locals. The delegation was briefed on the tourist, archeological and religious sites in Salamiya as well as the architecture that distinguishes the city and constitutes a witness to several old civilizations that flourished in this area.

Fernandez stressed that members of the delegation felt the state of security in the areas they visited, hailing the hospitality of the Syrian people and affirming that Syria will continue to be the gate of the East and will keep strong thanks to the cohesion between the people and their leadership.

On his part, Senator Juan Avara, Member of the Paraguayan Senate, said that the delegation visited a number of important archeological sites in the city of Salamiya, including the historical bath which dates back to the Roman era.

The delegation was also briefed on the ancient history and cultural heritage of the city.
