US should cooperate with Syria to liberate Idleb population from terrorism, says US Senator Richard Black
DAMASCUS, (ST)- American Senator Richard Black has stressed that Syria has the right to get all its lands back and live in peace following years of war, pointing out that the United States should work with Syria to liberate Idleb’s population taken by terrorists as human shields.
In a statement to journalists following his meeting on Sunday with the Presidential Political and Media Advisor Bouthaina Shaaban, Balck said that the western peoples should understand that “militants” in Idleb are all fighting under the umbrella of the al-Qaeda-linked Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization.
He affirmed that there is a certain party in the American administration that wants the war in Syria to continue. He warned against the danger of the information about the British intelligence intention to prepare a fabricated chemical attack in Idleb as to blame the Syrian government for the attack and justify an aggression against Syria.
The US Senator doubted that the American policy has been of any benefit to the American people while causing the destruction of the Middle East, asserting that the terrorism which targeted the United States on September 11, 2001 is the same terrorism that is hitting Syria today.
Black called on western countries to lift the unilateral economic sanctions imposed on the Syrian people and held the successive US administrations responsible for the state of chaos in the Middle East and for the destruction of Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan and Yemen.
He expressed hope that the US foreign policy will be shifted from damaging the Middle East to assisting it and will adopt diplomacy and reduce the use of military force.
Black made it clear that he feels safe among the Syrians as long as the Syrian army is sparing no effort as to eliminate the extremists who came from more than 100 countries and who were recruited, trained and funded by the western intelligence bodies which sent them to different parts of the word to disseminate terrorism.
On her part, Dr. Shaaban said that the terrorism hitting Syria today is the same that is targeting humanity everywhere, stressing that it is the duty of all governments to stand against this terrorism.
After eight years of war on Syria, the entire world has respect and amity for this country, its leadership and people and for the way the Syrians defended their homeland, convictions and unity.
