Seminars and awareness activities in Homs and Hasakeh as part of the campaign for early detection of breast cancer

Homs – Hasakeh (ST): In conjunction with the (Pink Month) for the early detection of breast cancer, the activities and procedures of the national campaign to raise awareness of the importance of early detection of the disease began in the governorates of Homs and Hasakeh under the slogan “Your awareness is your strength,” which will continue throughout the current month.

The head of the reproductive health program in the Homs Health Directorate, Dr. Muhammad Al-Aboud, told news reporter that the campaign aims to spread awareness and educate about the importance of early detection of the disease, self-monitoring, and conducting a clinical examination for women interested in all the 140 health centers that provide reproductive health services.

Al-Aboud indicated that during the campaign, a number of educational activities and seminars will be organized on the methods of self-examination, its timing, and definition of risk factors, in addition to scientific activities that highlight the developments of breast tumors and treatment methods, pointing out that health teams have been formed with the task of supervision, awareness, and health education.

Hasakeh Health Directorate also organized an awareness campaign on the importance of early detection of breast cancer in cooperation with the Al-Yamamah Syrian Association, with support from the United Nations Population Fund. An awareness seminar was held in the hall of the Arab Cultural Center in Hasakeh.
