Security operation against ISIS terrorists in Jasem city in Daraa continues

Counterterrorism forces, assisted by the Syrian Arab Army and some civil groups, continued with their security operation against ISIS terrorist organization in the city of Jasem in Daraa countryside for the second day.

A limited security and military operation was implemented after receiving information about strongholds for ISIS terrorists in the northern neighborhood of Jasem city, a security source told SANA, pointing out that one of the ISIS strongholds, where a number of terrorists were meeting, was targeted this morning. Several terrorists were killed and others were injured.

According to the source, the security operation witnessed wide participation by citizens who came from Daraa eastern and western countryside to help in eliminating the terrorists. Three people from the civil groups have been martyred during the confrontation with the terrorists, while 7 ISIS terrorists have been killed since the beginning of the operation.

The source went on to say that the curfew will continue in the area until the end of the operation with the aim of protecting civilians’ lives and eliminating the terrorists who constantly carry out terrorist acts in Jasem city and the neighboring areas.

The security operation was launched yesterday. It resulted in the killing and the injury of several ISIS terrorists, including two ringleaders – Ayoub Fadel Jbawi and Ayham Faisal Al-Halqi.
