Second Investment Conference In  Electricity Sector Kicks Off

Damascus-(ST)- Under the title (Investment in renewable energy and electricity is the engine of sustainable development in Syria)  the activities of the second investment conference in the electricity sector were launched on Wednesday in the Damascus University auditorium, in the presence of the Minister of Electricity Engineer Ghassan Al-Zamil, and the Minister of Industry Dr. Abdel Qader Joukhadar.

The conference topics focus on the available sources of renewable energy in Syria, investment opportunities for renewable energy projects, private sector participation in the field of electricity generation, the experiences of some international and regional organizations in the field of renewable energy, and successful experiences implemented by private sector companies.

The conference will also discuss mechanisms for financing renewable energy projects, mechanisms and facilities approved for lending at the Central Bank, tax benefits granted to investment in this field, facilities provided for importing renewable energy equipment, and contracting mechanisms in accordance with the partnership law.
