SDF starts supplying crude oil to Syrian government

Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have started to transport barrels of crude oil to the government, according to local media sources.

This step comes several days after the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) expressed their readiness to integrate their military and security forces into the army, exclude foreign fighters from their ranks, and work with the government to reactivate state institutions in northeastern Syria.

The Syria TV website quoted anonymous source in Rmelan oil fields as saying: “After the SDF and the Syrian government reached an initial agreement regarding oil, the process of sending oil from the Hasakah fields to the Syrian government via tankers has resumed.”

The source pointed out that dozens of tankers have already begun transporting crude oil from the Tal Adas station in the countryside of Al-Malikiyah towards the refineries in Homs and Baniyas.”

It confirmed that the daily export rate exceeds five thousand barrels of crude oil, which are regularly transported to Syrian refineries, from the oil fields in the provinces of Hasakah and Deir Ezzor.

With the resumption of oil exports to the Syrian government, a source at one of the oil refining sites in the Hasakah countryside revealed a reduction in the amount of locally refined crude oil in the northeastern regions of Syria, indicating that those responsible for the fuel sector in Rmelan decided to reduce the oil allocations for each refining site (burners) by 30%, due to the resumption of oil transfer operations to the government.

The source indicated that the oil extracted from the fields of Deir Ezzor and Hasakah is distributed on three main paths: the extracted oil is exported to the government, Iraqi Kurdistan, and the remain quantity is sold in the regions of northern and eastern Syria.
