“SDF” militia carries out large-scale kidnapping campaigns in Hasakah and Raqqa to forcibly recruit young men within its ranks

On January 30th, the US-backed “Syrian Democratic Forces” (SDF) (Qasad in Arabic) separatist militia has intensified its raids in the areas it occupies in the southern countryside of Hasakah and the Rumaila neighborhood in the city of Raqqa during which the SDF militants kidnapped dozens of young men and took them to an unknown destination.

Local sources stated that the SDF militants carried out the raids in the city of Al-Shadadi and its vicinity in the southern countryside of Hasakah, and in the Rumaila neighborhood in the city of Raqqa.

The sources pointed out that the people fear that the militia will continue to pursue their sons in the areas under its control with the aim of forcing them to fight within its ranks,  prticularly as dozens of families have lost contact with their sons since they were kidnapped by the SDF militia in several areas.

It is noteworthy that the kidnappings carried out by the “Qasad militia” against the people in the Syrian al-Jazira region are not new, despite the increase in their frequency during the past few days, which sparked widespread anger among the citizens who took to the streets in several demonstrations denouncing the oppressive practices of the SDF militia.
