Sculptor Mohamed Bajano Presents “Love” at Art House Gallery

The sculptor Muhammad Bajano possessed human potentials that made his chisel and stone a means of expressing emotions and ideas. The sculptor translated his emotions and ideas into tangible art in his exhibition, which opened  today for visitors in the Gallery “Art House” in Damascus.

The exhibition, titled “Love”, included about forty sculptures, ranging in size from small to wooden murals, and carried a great momentum of symbols in addition to contemporary stylistics and unique artistic techniques that served the exhibition’s idea of strength and beauty.

In his speech, Bajano pointed out that each exhibition presented by the artist carries a new idea and experience full of memories and is supported by directing techniques to reach the final form of the work to be a living witness to the development of the artist’s experience with the different situations and emotions he is going through.

Bajano pointed out that what distinguishes his current exhibition is the different types of stones and their rare colors that are widespread in the environment in which he lived, searching and selecting certain forms of stones that suit the eye of the beholder, stressing his keenness to keep them within the framework of their unique natural personality.

In turn, the plastic art critic Saad Al-Qasim indicated that the three-dimensional sculptural work is seen from each side with a different aesthetic view and is calculated in a correct manner, noting that the artist Bajano focused his interest in this exhibition on tangible models and was able to draw a sculptural line of his own, especially since he always embodies an opposing duality between strength, rigidity, beauty and tenderness.

It is worth noting that the Syrian artist Mohammed Bajano was born in the city of Latakia in 1956 and in 1980 he graduated from the Sculpture Department at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Damascus and works as an art teacher at the Teachers Preparation Institute in Latakia. He participated in several group exhibitions within the governorates.  Some of Bajano’s works are manifested in the Museum of Modern Art in Latakia.  So far, Bajano has been participating in sculpting forums in Arab and foreign countries.
