Scientific trip to Bosra

Daraa, ST- The visits to Busra al-Sham city in Daraa countryside continue and  the latest was a cultural and scientific one from the Faculty of Tourism and the Department of Archeology at Damascus University and Gilgamesh Center for Tourism Training and a number of graduates of the recent tour guides.

Participants were briefed on the monuments of Bosra inscribed in the World Heritage List, its buildings, theater, castle and other sites dating back thousands of years.

The Director of Tourism in Daraa, Yasser Al-Saadi, pointed out to SANA that the trip comes within the framework of encouraging domestic tourism and highlighting this historical city, stressing that the Directorate along with the Bosra City Council provided visitors with all the facilities and adequate information about the city and its ancient history.

He added that the Directorate seeks to intensify cultural tours in line with the aspirations of the tourism sector and prospects for tourism development in the province.

Faisal Najati, Director of the General Authority for Tourism and Hotel Training, said in a similar statement that the impression was positive, stressing the importance of organizing more trips and visits to this archaeological area.

Bosra has 45 archaeological sites inside and outside the Old City.
