Saudi War on Yemen Killed Over 15,000 Civilians, Caused Humanitarian Suffering to More than 22 million Yemenis

TEHRAN –  Spokesman of Yemen’s National Salvation Government, Minister of Information Dhaifallah al-Shami has stated that over 15,000 civilians have been martyred in Saudi Arabia’s war on Yemen since it began in March 2015.

“Since the start of the Saudi-Emirati-American-led war on Yemen in 2015, 15,359 civilians have been martyred,” al-Shami said in a press conference on Monday, Yemen’s al-Masirah television network reported, according to Tasnim news Agency.

He added that at least 24,000 Yemeni people have been also injured since then.

Al-Shami  also showed that “Over 22 million Yemenis need humanitarian aid and health assistance, 2.9 million children and women are suffering from malnutrition and 11.3 need food.”

The data also showed that coalition war on Yemen has forced nearly million and a half citizens to flee their homes, according to Yemen News Agency (SABA).

Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for more than three-and-a-half years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far, Tasnim said.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
