Saudi technical team visits Syria to discuss reopening the Saudi Embassy

Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Soussan on Saturday received a Saudi technical team in charge of reopening the Saudi Embassy in Damascus. The two sides discussed resuming the work of the Saudi diplomatic mission in the country.

A statement by the Saudi Foreign Ministry said that the Saudi technical team, led by Ghazi bin Rafe’ Al- Anzi, arrived in Damascus on Saturday to discuss reopening the Saudi embassy in implementation of the Kingdom’s decision to resume the work of its diplomatic mission.

On May 9th, Syria and Saudi Arabia announced the resumption of their diplomatic missions in Damascus and Riyadh in a step that reflects the deep relations between the two countries and embodies the aspirations of the Syrian and Saudi peoples.
