Saudi-Qatari-Turkish support behind the escalation of ISIS crimes

The heinous crimes that the armed terrorist organizations affiliated to Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) are committing against Syrian civilians could not have been possible without the direct support provided for these groups by Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey. Some UNSC member states are involved in providing the terrorist groups with weapons of mass destruction. Some countries have become addicted to shedding the Syrians’ blood over the past four years. Those same countries continue to talk about Syria in a misleading and provocative way that serves only the terrorism-backing project in the region.

These crimes aim to sow mischief, hatred and destroy Syria’s infrastructure and state institutions to facilitate the implementation of the Zionist project in the region and end the resistance axis against Israel as Syria constitutes the heart of this axis. These crimes targeted religious monuments, places of worship, shrines, historical and cultural landmarks with a view to inflicting as much damage as possible on Syria’s heritage and rich legacy.

It is now imperative for international community and the anti-terrorism countries to compel states which are backing terrorism against Syria to cease their military and financial support for these terrorist groups. The international community is called on to prove adherence to its counter-terrorism commitments through full cooperation and coordination with Syria which is preventing the spread of international terrorism and combating terrorism on behalf of the whole world. The UN Security Council is demanded to genuinely enforce its counterterrorism resolutions for them not to remain ink on paper.

The spread of terrorism and extremism in the region was caused by the destructive role of some countries, on top of which Saudi Arabia, with the purpose of fragmenting Syria’s unique structure to justify and facilitate the achievement of Israel’s goals, especially the ill-famed Great Middle East project which aims to enable Israel invade the Arab homeland and dominate it politically and economically.

The churches and mosques of Syria will remain praying for peace and amity despite all the crimes that were committed by cross-border terrorists.

The purpose of the schemes against Syria is to destroy its unique structure and transform it into ethnical and sectarian entities to facilitate and justify Israel’s goals in occupying the entire Palestinian lands and prevent the Palestinians from establishing their independent state.

Ethical, sectarian and religious disputes were never part of the culture of the peoples of the region. The outbreak of terrorism and extremism is the result of some regimes’ destructive role, particularly the Saudi regime, in promoting the wahabi Takfiri mentality and working on spreading it through its educational system and some affiliate media outlets.

The escalation of terrorist crimes came as a response from the regimes of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey and Jordan to the important outcomes that were reached at the latest Moscow inter-Syrian talks. In their “clear message” delivered by their agents of the so-called “moderate opposition”, those regimes have sought to foil any political solution that could be reached by the Syrians themselves without foreign interference.

The continuation of terrorist acts are caused by those countries which have not ceased providing direct support for the Takfiri terrorist organizations, including the notorious Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and Jabhat al-Nusra. France, Britain, Jordan and the US are also accomplices in backing the terrorists.

The Security Council should take non-politicized action towards enforcing counterterrorism resolutions in deeds not only in words. The Council is also called upon to cooperate and coordinate with the Syrian government, which “has been combating terrorism for years on behalf of the entire world people.

The Syria people are determined to continue fighting terrorism in Syria and defend their homeland.
