Saudi Arabia chairs an international conference to coordinate the humanitarian response to the Sudanese issue
Riyadh (ST) – The Saudi Arabia Kingdom announced that it will co-chair, alongside a number of countries and international bodies, a high-level conference to support the humanitarian response to Sudan. The conference will be held on the 19th of this month.
In a statement reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Saudi Arabia’s support for the Sudanese people, announcing Riyadh’s provision of various humanitarian aid worth $100 million. It also organized a popular campaign to alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people, evacuate citizens as well as nationals of Arab and friendly countries and members of international organizations from Sudan.
The ministry expressed its intention to work to bring the views closer between the two Sudanese fighting parties in the talks taking place in Jeddah, with the aim of alleviating the suffering of the Sudanese people and ending the crisis through political dialogue.
The suffering of the Sudanese people continues as a result of the crisis ravaging the country and the ongoing clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Group.
