Saspkin Condemns Terrorists ‘s Khan al-Asal Massacre

BEIRUT,(ST)_The Russian ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Saspkin renewed condemnation of the armed  terrorist groups launching of  a missile carrying chemicals   on Khan al-Asal in  Aleppo considering that this act  ” requires everyone to reconsider all calculations and agree on the principle of dialogue and a peaceful settlement. “

In an Interview with the Lebanese al-Manar TV today ,  Saspkin added that the situation in Syria requires everyone, especially the parties concerned to maintain cohesion to the principle of dialogue and political process, pointing out that Russia will request an effective contribution from the international community to help making a political settlement  in Syria.

He stressed that the use  chemical weapons by the Syrian opposition requires the mobilization of international efforts to assess the situation to reach a political settlement and not to raise the level of confrontation in Syria, noting that an  investigation of this subject is required.

On Doha coalition appointing of  what he described as “prime minister” Saspkin  considered this step an impediment to  the political process and that it   contradicts with  the will of the Syrian people and the objectives of finding a solution to the crisis in Syria .
As for the  Russian ships in the Mediterranean , the Russian ambassador  stressed that there is no message about the current situation because this strategic decision about the presence of the fleet in the Mediterranean is pertinent to the Russian  political and security approach , which is broader than the  crisis in Syria and current developments.
Concerning  the situation on the Lebanese-Syrian border Saspkin indicated  that Russia adheres to the sovereignty of States and that  there are  bilateral agreements between Lebanon and Syria and there must be constant communication between the two countries leaderships, stressing that Moscow supports the policy of neutralizing Lebanon of  what is happening in the region and also  all actions taken by the Lebanese army .
