SARC volunteers distribute relief aid in Hasakah

Volunteers of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) in Hasakah, supported by the International Committee of the Red Cross and the World Food Program, started on Monday to distribute relief aid to dozens of families, who were displaced by the Turkish occupation and its affiliated terrorist groups from Ras Al-Ayn city and several villages in Hasakah northern countryside.

The families are residing now in temporary housing centers in the city of Hasakah.

In a statement to SANA, Head of SARC’s Hasakah branch Ali Mansour said that the aid aims at alleviating the suffering of these families especially with the coming of winter, adding that the relief aid includes blankets, mattresses, food and health baskets and solar-powered chargers.

Mansour pointed out that SARC volunteers also installed doors and windows for around 150 houses in Hasakah city with the support of the High Commissioner for Refugees within the framework of the “Shelter Bags” project.

He explained that the “Shelter Bags” project, launched at the beginning of this year, has targeted 100 houses in Khashman neighborhood in the east of Hasakah, hoping that other houses will be covered by this project in the coming period.
