SARC Condemns Attack on its Relief Center in Hamadaneya Area in Aleppo

ALEPPO, (ST)- The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) has condemned the attack that targeted on Wednesday one of its relief centers in al-Hamadaneya area in the city of Aleppo.

In a statement  published on its website, SARC said “the Organization of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent plus the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the International Federation of the Societies of the Red Crescent and Red Cross condemn the attack which targeted a SARC center for distributing relief aid in al-Hamadaneya area in Aleppo.”

SARC said the attack claimed the lives of one of its staff and wounded seven others, three of them are suffering serious injuries. The attack took place while citizens were coming to receive their shares of humanitarian assistance.

The organization pointed out that the International Movement of the Red Cross and Red Crescent reminds all parties of their duty to respect and protect workers in the humanitarian field and to respect citizens’ right to get humanitarian aid which shouldn’t be targeted.

Since the very beginning of the terrorist war on Syria, the terrorist organizations stole several SARC ambulances and cars and used them in terrorist attacks in residential areas.

Yesterday, the terrorist groups targeted residential buildings in al-Hamadaneya area with rockets, killing two people, injuring 14 others and causing huge material damage to houses and properties.
