Iran has expressed hope that the United Nations and the International Community will take necessary steps to lift the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people in order to improve the humanitarian situation in the country and create suitable conditions for the return of the Syrian refugees.
In a phone conversation with the UN Chief’s Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen, Ali Asghar Khaji, Senior Aid to the Iranian Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, reiterated the need to continue with the political process in Syria and with the talks of the Syrian Constitutional Committee.
On his part, Pedersen affirmed the importance of expanding the scale of humanitarian aid as a key element for solving the crisis in Syria, hailing Iran’s efforts in this process.
