Sanctions against Russian energy exports to hit all sides, says Chinese Foreign Ministry

BEIJING – Sanctions against Russia’s exports of oil and gas will result in economic issues that will hit all sides, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Zhao Lijian told a briefing on Wednesday, TASS reported.

“China is definitely against unilateral sanctions that are not based on international law. Brandishing a sanctions club will not add peace and security. It will only lead to serious issues for the economy and the quality of life in corresponding countries,” he said.

“In this scenario, everyone will lose. Sanctions will only intensify separation and confrontation,” the diplomat added.
