SANA correspondent in India receives Distinguished Journalist Awa

The correspondent of the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), in India Dr. Wael Awad,, won the Distinguished Journalist Award, during a ceremony held by  the Indian magazine “The Diplomatist” on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of its publication,

The ceremony was attended by a number of diplomats accredited in India, industrialists and prominent figures.

It was written  on the award given: “The Distinguished Journalist Award  was given to Dr. Wael Awad in recognition of his distinguished journalistic work. This award is in honor  of your hard work, passion, and unwavering commitment to journalistic excellence.”

Dr. Awad is considered the oldest accredited foreign correspondent in India. He has worked on covering events in India and neighboring countries over the past decades.

He currently holds the position of Vice President of the Foreign Journalists Club in South Asia, and an advisor to the India-based Teletoma Foundation for Strategic Studies.

Dr. Awad has previously won several local and international awards for freedom of opinion and expression for his tireless activity and credibility in reporting the facts impartially, transparently and objectively.

He  has many studies and articles published in local, Arab and international newspapers and magazines in many languages.

It is noteworthy that Dr. Awad has resided in India since 1980, and  worked on covering wars in the region and important political, economic and cultural events, and has held many meetings with leaders of countries.
