Salute to Hezbollah resistance movement

The Palestinian resistance factions in cooperation with the Palestinian-Iranian Friendship Association and the General Union of Arab Students (GUAS) organized Thursday a festival entitled ” Salute to the Hezbollah resistance movement ” in al-Assad Library in Damascus.

The speakers in the festival talked about the reasons of labeling Hezbollah as  a ‘terrorist group’ by gulf regimes and the resistance movement’s role in confronting Israel.

Secretary General of the GUAS  Nidal Ammar said that resistance will remain the most effective weapon in confronting the Zionist entity [Israel] and its tools. “Resistance is not a terrorist movement and Islam has nothing to do with terrorists linked to ISIS and the al-Nusra Front.”

He reiterated that the classification of Hezbollah as a ‘terrorist group’ by the Arab League comes within the project of the Zionists and conspirators, who support terrorism in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Lebanon.

On his part, a member of the Palestinian-Iranian Friendship Association Mohammad al-Bhisi asserted that Hezbollah has stood by the Palestinian resistance and unveiled conspiracy against the region.

“Hezbollah’s support for the Palestinian people’s rights and its firm stance towards Syria are the main reasons behind classification of Hezbollah as a ‘terror group’,” added al-Bhisi.

Another reason for the classification of Hezbollah is the victories achieved by the Syrian Arab army and Hezbollah fighters against terrorist organizations, which are backed by Gulf states, Turkey and the west, according to the member of the politburo of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine Maher al-Taher.

The classification was completely rejected by the Arab Democratic Nasserist Party, which sent a cable to the participants in the festival describing Hezbollah as an Arab resistance movement in confronting the Zionist entity.

Following the festival, Iran’s Ambassador in Damascus Mohammad Rida Raof Shibani told reporters that Hezbollah is an Arab and Islamic resistance movement, which has been fighting against the Zionist entity and its plots.

“The terror war being waged on Syria aims to destroy the axis of resistance,” the ambassador concluded.
