Tehran – Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi has expressed hope that the crisis in Syria would be solved through collective wisdom of the international community, according to the Iranian news Agency (IRNA).
Salehi made the remarks on Monday during a meeting with the new Australian Ambassador to Iran Paul Foley who submitted a copy of his credentials to the Iranian FM.
Discussing regional critical situation, Salehi referred to terrorism and extremism as two major risks threatening the entire region.
He hoped that peace and stability would return to Syria by the collective wisdom of the international community.
During the meeting, the two sides also discussed promotion of Iran-Australia ties as well as the common views shared by the two countries.
